Motorfest kicks off Cornwall Motorsport Month

Friday 06 September 2019

The county’s biggest motoring event welcomed British Touring Car Championship star Tom Ingram, alongside his Ginsters-liveried Toyota Corolla, as guests enjoyed live music, stunt shows and classic car displays.

Over the busy weekend Camel Vale Motor Club (CVMC) introduced over 70 people to grassroots motorsport as they hosted two days of Taster Autotests at the popular local event. Motorfest visitors were able to try their hand at Autotesting under the guidance of club members, driving vehicles supplied by CVMC sponsor Combellack Vehicle Recycling.

Each test was timed, and the competition was close with numerous customers repeatedly trying to better their times. Fourteen-year-old Will Dent won by five hundredths of a second from a three-way tie and will now be competing in the club’s Autotest this coming weekend.

Cornwall Motorsport Month continues this weekend with a 4×4 event organised by Cornish Leaf and Coil Motor Club on Saturday, with a Classic Car and Bike Show at Truro High School for Girls following on Sunday.
