Want to race like the F1 Academy stars? Join in with the Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy to get involved!
The Girls Karting Academy programme is an initiative designed to get girls enjoying motorsport more often!
The programme provides a safe and inclusive space for newcomers and rookies to come and give Motorsport a go. Delivered with TeamSport indoor Karting, the girls karting academy run taster days at 14 different venues across the country. Providing a mixture of on track learning, as well as some off track games and support.
Our programme is designed for drivers aged 8-15 – Creating a great environment for all to come and give Motorsport a go.
Following its launch in May 2025, 800+ girls have taken part and taken steps to get into motorsport.
What to expect at a Taster day…
During nationwide taster days, girls will get behind the wheel in TeamSport’s arrive and drive karts for 30 minutes of on track practice and two hours of off track delivery in the shape of games, reaction test and fitness challenges!
What happens next…
At the end of your taster day you will fill in personal development plan, which the coach working with you will help with. From here, your coach can allocate you a level in which to enter the TeamSport Race academy. This programme is designed to help drivers progress with people who are of similar speed to yourself. Here you can hone in your skills as often as you like, in preparation for the next step… National Competition!
Further progression…
After you have sharpened your skills at the teamsport race academy, its time to head into the national competition – the British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC for short!)
The BIKC is split into sections as follows:
Qualifiers
Drivers can enter from April 1st through to August 31st, with the challenge of posting three lap times across separate days to qualify. A great chance to see where you are in comparison to the local drivers!
Local finals
So, you made it through Qualifiers – its time for your Local Final! Held at the same track where you qualified, you’ll be going wheel to wheel with the drivers at that venue who have also made it through.
Reginal Finals
Win at your local final? Looks like you’re through to the regional finals! Things ramp up here in terms of competition, drivers from all over the region attend one venue to race against each other.
The National Final
Came out ontop on your region? Now its time to head to Warrington for the National final. All of the drivers who have made it through to the nationals, come together for one big final show down. The best indoor drivers, in one place. There can only be one British Indoor Karting Champion, could that be you?
