Motorsport UK Karting Esports Championship Final is upon us

Wednesday 15 April 2020

The Motorsport UK Karting Esports Championship Easter Series is building up to an exciting grand finale tomorrow evening, (Thursday 16 April) as the honours for three classes will be decided. The compact, taster series in association with KartSim, Alpha Live and Motorsport Games has been a successful affair with hundreds of drivers from around Europe taking part.

After thousands of Hot laps around Buckmore Park and some nail-biting Semi-finals at a virtual Glan-Y-Gors – action will now switch to PF International for the final showdown from 19:15.

Up first will be the Motorsport UK Under 12 category Repecharge. This short-sharp race will be a no hold barred affair as the 18 drivers who didn’t secure an automatic spot in the final will fight for two lucrative places on the back of the main grid shortly afterwards.

After the Under 12 race, the Motorsport UK class for current licence holders will be up next as they go to wheel-to-wheel around the virtual Lincolnshire track. 20 drivers will be vying for the first British Karting Esports spoils – keeping sharp before the British Kart Championships are set to get underway later in the season.

And finally, the Motorsport UK Open Series for drivers without a Motorsport UK competition licence will draw the evenings proceedings to an end. With a pack of hungry British drivers, look out too for Italian Giulio Scrinzi, Dutch driver David van der Hulst and Hungarian Indoor Karting expert Adrian Janecsko who will be aiming to wrestle silverware away from the local drivers on home turf. All of Finals will be LIVE streamed on the Motorsport UK, British Kart Championship and Alpha Live Facebook pages form 19:15 on Thursday 16 April.

“This has been a very exciting project for Motorsport UK and the British Kart Championships,” said Kart Manager at Motorsport UK, Dan Parker. “The racing has been pretty intense. Right from the word go, the Hot Laps were taken very seriously and the skill levels in the Semi Finals has shown that drivers are here to win, and very certainly mean business. I look forward to tuning in to watch the Finals at PF International on Thursday night to see who we will crown as Easter Series Champions.”
