MOTORSPORT UK LAUNCHES ELECTRIFIED VEHICLES WORKING GROUP

The Motorsport UK Technical Committee has set up an Electrified Vehicles Working Group to develop technical and safety regulations, to accommodate electric vehicles and embrace their entry into events, in place for 2020.

The term Electrified Vehicle (EV) is used to cover all forms of Electrified Vehicles including Electric Road Vehicle, Hybrid Electric Vehicle, Full Hybrid Electric vehicle and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle.

Made up of experts in electrified powertrains from both the Automotive and motorsport industries, the working group are currently refining regulations for a planned launch in 2020. The regulations will cater for both Series Production electrified vehicles as well as specialist competition vehicles with appropriate levels of safety requirements for each type.

OPEN FORUM INVITATION

Motorsport UK are holding an open forum for competitors, vehicle manufacturers & preparers and that are interested in using and developing Electrified Vehicles in competition, to introduce and discuss the new regulations.
