Wednesday 11 May 2022

Motorsport UK is seeking applications to represent the nation in the 2022 FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme, an international talent detection initiative for future female champions.

Following the successful implementation of the Rising Stars programme in 2020 and 2021, the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission is ready to begin this year’s search for the next cohort of Rising Stars.

The FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme is open to two dedicated groups of talented female karting drivers and further details can be found below.

Have you got what it takes?

  • Junior – between 12-14 years old (DOB 31/03/2008 to 31/12/2010)
  • Senior – between 14-16 years old (DOB 01/01/2006 to 31/03/2008)
  • Applicants must have national and international karting experience and be able to evidence results and times that show potential to progress.
  • If shortlisted, drivers must be able to commit to a shootout at Paul Ricard (France) on the 17th & 18th August 2022.
  • Following the shootout, the best Juniors will be invited to attend a Karting Training Camp, while the best Seniors will participate in Formula Training Camp, both from the 19th-21st August 2022.

Should drivers progress through the Shootout and training camps in August, the best four juniors and seniors (across all nations) will be invited to the Scuderia Ferrari Selection in Maranello (Italy) for a one week training camp and selection in November 2022.

The senior winner could be awarded a one year contract to join the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) and compete in the FIA F4 Championship with Iron Dames’ support.  The best junior karting driver will be supported to participate in a Karting championship in 2022, financed by the FDA.

To apply, drivers should fill in the online application by clicking here. The deadline is Wednesday 25th May.

Following the closing date, all applications will be reviewed by Motorsport UK and shortlisted karters will be nominated to the FIA for consideration.

By applying, competitors agree to organising and funding their own travel and accommodation requirements for each stage of the programme should they be successful in selection.
