Drag Racing History for Annie Wallace

Thursday 22 July 2021

Annie Wallace made drag racing history last Sunday in the Motorsport UK British Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway. The Bedford drag racer became the second British female to enter the Pro Modified championship class, and Annie did what nobody has done before, winning on her first time out.

Having qualified third in her Ford Mustang and with 3,000 horsepower under her right foot, Annie clocked a 6.133-second/229.31 mph blast to take victory at the Bedfordshire track in addition to securing the quickest and fastest launch of the Brits’ career to date.

At 22-years-old, Annie Wallace is recognised as the youngest female ever to race in Pro Mod, covering Europe and America. And although women compete equally with men on all drag racing levels, winning on debut is a unique achievement among drivers of either gender.
