With plenty of motorsport action on offer this weekend, here is a look ahead at what event are taking place so you don’t miss out:

British Rally Championship – Trackrod Rally Yorkshire

The highly anticipated return of the British Rally Championship to the Dalby Forest is just around the corner, testing the skills of the championship drivers across 54 competitive miles.

British rally driver Rhy Yates currently sits at the top of the drivers’ standings, with only a one-point separating him and Osian Pryce. In the Junior British Rally Championship, Eamonn Kelly has a 14-point lead ahead of runner-up driver Finlay Retson.

British Touring Car Championship – Round 8 at Silverstone

This weekend the British Touring Car Championship makes its next stop at Silverstone for the eighth round in the 2021 race calendar. It was a win apiece for British drivers Aiden Moffat, Jake Hill and Colin Turkington, with Hill in Race Two managing to widen the gap between himself and the previous race winner Aiden Moffat by over five seconds to secure the victory.

Those results place Jake Hill second in the overall standings, with Ash Sutton sitting at the top with a 29-point lead.

British F4 Championship certified by FIA – Rounds 22, 23 & 24 at Silverstone

Also heading to the home of British motorsport is the British F4 Championship. Last weekend (18-19 September), young British driver McKenzy Cresswell secured a double race win, with the JHR Developments driver managing to defend his pole position during the entirety of the final race.

With only 25-points between him and current pole-sitter Matias Zagazeta, can McKenzy get ahead of the grid at Silverstone to edge closer to the championship win?

British Historic Rally Championship – Trackrod Rally Yorkshire

Alongside the BRC, the British Historic Rally Championship heads to Yorkshire to complete the Trackrod Rally course. The demanding second round of the championship will see the drivers tackle miles of gravel track under the cover of darkness.

British Rallycross Championship – Round 5 at Knockhill

Knockhill will host the fifth round of the British Rallycross Championship. Championship leader and Briton Ollie O’Donovan will defend his position against close competitors Roberts Vitols and Julian Godfrey.

British Drag Racing Championship – Round 6 at Santa Pod Raceway

The British Drag Racing Championships returns to the infamous Santa Pod Raceway for the final round of the 2021 season. Nick Davies heads into the weekend with an 11-point lead ahead of Kevin Slyfield in his ’57 Ford Thunderbird. In the battle of the Mustangs, Annie Wallace currently sits ahead of Jon Webster, but will Wallace secure the victory?

British Hillclimb Championship – Rounds 27 & 28 at Loton Park

The final round of the British Hillclimb Championship takes place this weekend at the Loton Park Speed Hill Climb, set in the picturesque Shropshire countryside. Although the championship was secured in the previous round at Craigantlet by Wallace Menzies, the drivers will still be motivated to record the quickest time of the weekend.

British Sprint Championship – Round 8 at Blyton Park

Blyton Park will host the eighth round of the British Sprint Championship organised by Nottingham Sports Car Club. On the first day of the race weekend, the competitors will sprint on the eastern circuit with its sharp corners and opportunities to pick up speed on the long straights, followed by the Blyton Park Outer circuit on day two. Steve Miles currently occupies pole position in the championship, followed by Graham Blackwell.

British Superkart Grand Prix – Donington Park

The Motorsport UK British Superkart Grand Prix drivers will be racing around the iconic Donington Park. With a strong grid secured for the weekend, there will be plenty of exciting motorsport action at this standalone race event. Familiar faces from the British Superkart Championship will take to the track, and a collection of novice drivers motivated to display their driving talents.

British Cross Country Championship – Round 5 at Falstone

The British Cross Country drivers head to Falstone for the fifth round in this year’s championship. It’s a level playing field for both Richard Kershaw and Adrian Marfell, who sit ahead of the grid on 86 points.

Formula 1 VTB Russian Grand Prix 2021

The Formula 1 teams and drivers will race at Sochi this weekend and tackle the 5.848-kilometre track with its long sweep on Turn 3 and sizeable straights. British driver Lando Norris had a stellar drive in the previous race in Italy, claiming a podium win alongside teammate Daniel Riccardo. Unfortunately, seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton did not finish the race due to an incident involving himself and Max Verstappen, of which the driver walked away unharmed.

Hamilton is only five points behind the #33 Red Bull driver. Will he claim the championship lead? And will Norris move further up the standings to secure third place?

FIA Formula 2 – Sochi

Alongside Formula 1 in Russia this weekend is the Formula 2 Championship. Briton Dan Ticktum continues to hold his fourth position in the championship standings. After several good times recorded over the season, he has shown he has the potential to improve his position.

IndyCar Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach

Motorsport UK Academy Team UK driver Callum Ilott will compete in his second IndyCar race this weekend for the Juncos Hollinger Racing team after impressing the team at his debut round at Portland International Raceway.
