This weekend is another action-packed weekend for British motorsport. From electric single-seater racing to hill climbing, here’s our guide to getting up to speed with what’s on!

ABB FIA Formula E World Championship – Rounds 12 & 13 at London

For the first time in five years, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to electrify the Capital for the penultimate Season 7 double-header. There will be a strong British presence when the cars line-up on home soil for the first indoor/outdoor track, designed by British architect Simon Gibbon in collaboration with the FIA and Motorsport UK.

British driver Sam Bird currently tops the driver standings, after an immense performance at the previous round in New York City. However, Antonio Da Costa and Robin Frijns are close behind in the points and a great race finish in London could but Bird’s position in jeopardy. We will be sat eagerly at the edge of our seats hoping the British driver continues to remain at the top.

The 2021 Heineken London E-Prix is the first major event to take place at the ExCeL Centre since the venue became known as the NHS Nightingale Hospital during the pandemic. You can keep up with all the action on Channel 4 or on the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship website.

British GT Championship – Round 4 at Spa-Francorchamps

The British GT Championship is set to hit the track this weekend in Spa-Francorchamps. Last time out at Donington Park, Richard and Sam Neary achieved Team Abba Racing’s maiden championship victory, with Will Burns and Gus Burton also continuing their winning streak. With the drivers on foreign soil, it is sure to be an interesting race!

British F3 Championship – Rounds 10, 11 & 12 at Spa-Francorchamps

Joining the British GT Championship in Spa-Francorchamps this weekend is the British F3 teams and drivers, with Zak O’Sullivan looking to extend his place at the top of the driver standings. The Carlin driver has managed to secure himself a safe 47-point gap between him and second place driver, Reece Ushijima.

British Hillclimb Championship – Rounds 17 & 18 at Prescott Hill Climb Circuit

With only five rounds left of this year’s British Hillclimb Championship, we head South West to Gloucestershire for the Prescott Hill Climb. The competition is fierce this season. Course records have already been broken three times and just five points separating current champion Wallace Menzies from Alex Summers.

Having already won at Doune last month, will Sean Gould be back in the mix? Can Menzie hold onto the P1 position and his record of not finishing outside of the top three in the last five years? Stay tuned to the British Hill Climb Championship Facebook page!

British Sprint Championship – Round 6 at Knockhill

British Car Trial Championship – A&P and Filtrate Trial

This weekend will host two rounds of the British Car Trial Championship. Dave Oliver was crowned the winner last time out at the Wye Valley Car Trial. Let’s see who will impress and come out on top! Formula Student – Silverstone

The Formula Student competition, organised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, is heading to Silverstone this weekend. More than 140 teams from across the globe will be competing in multiple events under the judge’s eyes with points awarded for acceleration plus handling and efficiency. The engineers will also be accessed on their design, budget and presentation skills.

This is a great opportunity for young and enthusiastic individuals looking to pursue a motorsport career, and what better way than to host the event at the home of British Motor Racing.
