Race of Remembrance returns to Anglesey this weekend

Friday 07 November 2025

Mission Motorsport’s flagship annual event, Race of Remembrance, takes place at Anglesey Circuit across this upcoming weekend of 8-9 November, where teams of ex-military personnel make the pilgrimage to North Wales to compete, raise funds and vital awareness for the Forces’ Motorsport Charity.

Marking the 11th staging of Race of Remembrance, an endurance race contested over 12 hours with a focus on camaraderie, community and competition, this year’s encounter is expected to be as action-packed as ever with a bumper grid.

Proudly named Motorsport UK’s Event of the Year in 2024, the race is administered by the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) and features road-car based racers no more than 250bhp per tonne and run on street-legal tyres.

Undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind race, particularly with the key support provided to ex-forces personnel by Mission Motorsport, the race begins on Saturday, 8 November, and then uniquely pauses at 10.45 on the morning of Sunday, 9 November, ahead of a special Service of Remembrance.

Providing poignant reflection to remember those who have served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for King, Queen and country, the service will be led by a Military Padre with drivers, teams, families, marshals and circuit staff all gathering in the Anglesey pitlane.

While Race of Remembrance is the blue riband event for Mission Motorsport, with a support race at Anglesey coming in the form of the RoR ClubSport Trophy, the Forces’ Motorsport Charity also runs other activities elsewhere across Remembrance Weekend.

At Thruxton Karting Centre, adjacent to Thruxton Circuit near Andover in Hampshire, the Karting Race of Remembrance will be staged with 20 teams comprising veterans, serving military personnel and motorsport fans competing to raise funds and awareness.

In the year of the 80th anniversary of VE Day, the importance of remembrance is as prominent as ever and Mission Motorsport is hugely grateful for the support of vital partners. The 2025 ‘Poppy Car’, which features a striking livery featuring Sir Winston Churchill’s famed VE Day speech from 8th May 1945, is kindly provided by Jaguar – an F-Type SVR.

In recent months, the Forces’ Motorsport Charity has welcomed leading global tool manufacturer Wera Tools – which has a significant presence within UK motor racing – and British-based Davanti Tyres as vital new sponsors.
