Team UK bring home the bronze in GT at FIA Motorsport Games
Team UK’s pairing of Ian Loggie and Sam Neary have won the Bronze medal in the GT discipline at the 2022 FIA Motorsport Games.
Despite a late switch to the line-up on board the #93 Mercedes-AMG GT3 after illness for Team UK Captain, Chris Froggatt, Neary and Loggie have hit the ground running in the south of France, earning fourth on the grid for the Final through the qualifying races.
Loggie made a bold start, and briefly sized third on the run down to the first corner, before being forced to settle for fourth on the exit. A steady stint from the 2022 British GT Champion ended with Loggie pitting from sixth to hand over to Neary.
From there, the Motorsport UK Academy graduate was in blistering form, and quickly set about rising through the order. Shaving several seconds per lap off the third-placed Chinese Taipei entry after taking control of the RAM and Tempesta Racing-run machine, the 21-year-old was able to get by into the Bronze medal position.
With France and Germany clear up the road, Neary then kept it calm and composed around the 3.6-mile Paul Ricard circuit to take the chequered flag third, and win Team UK their first medal of the 2022 Games.
