Applications still open for Motorsport UK’s Kart Development Fund
Motorsport UK launched its Kart Development Fund in 2023, following the introduction of the new Kart Class homologation regulations.
Designed to assist and support the growth of karting across the UK, the fund was created through the sale of homologated kart engines and tyres within the UK karting market, of which 50 percent of the monies raised are available for Motorsport UK registered kart clubs in the form of grants.
To date, three clubs and three competitors have benefited from the Kart Development Fund across the UK, with the monies used for international visibility and promotional purposes, with interest expressed for safety, scrutineering and regulatory purposes.
The fund has been used for a variety of initiatives, including live streaming, support of marketing and promotional materials for a local kart club and in the creation of filming safety videos for track users.
Dan Parker, Head of Karting, Motorsport UK, comments, “The Kart Development Fund is designed to help support the growth of karting across the UK, with clubs able to apply across a range of initiatives from safety to sustainability and equipment. Applications are still open for what we feel is a unique opportunity that will benefit future drivers and their affiliated clubs.”
Suggested uses for clubs applying to grants include:
Sustainability projects
Safety projects
Live streaming / promotion of events
Incentives and prizes to encourage and increase participation
Diversification and accessibility projects
Community Engagement
