Sporting Assistant (Rally & Cross Country)
Salary Range: £27,000 – £30,000pa

An opportunity has arisen to join the Motorsport UK team as a Sporting Assistant.
The Sporting department at Motorsport UK plays a key role in facilitating a safe, fair, and fun experience for the motorsport community. This involves ensuring the governance and regulations of the sport are relevant and suitable, as well as reviewing the current landscape of participation, with a view to encouraging greater and sustained enjoyment.
The Sporting Assistant (Rally & Cross Country) will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day functioning of the Sporting department, placing a particular emphasis on supporting the continued success of rallying in the UK.
Primary Objectives
The primary objectives associated with this role will be:
- Providing administrative, logistical, and organisational support to all areas of the Sporting department, with a particular emphasis on the Rally and Cross Country disciplines.
- Developing, standardising, and documenting administrative, logistical, and organisational processes utilised in support of the Rally and Cross-Country disciplines.
- Providing excellent customer service to licence holders, motorsport clubs, and the public as appropriate.
Additional Responsibilities
In addition to the primary objectives listed above, the Sporting Assistant (Rally & Cross Country) will be responsible for:
- Liaising with members of the Motorsport UK community via various communication channels (inc. emails, telephone, letters) to ensure their needs and requirements are met.
- Reviewing feedback received from Stewards reports or other reporting channels, ensuring actions are allocated to appropriate internal resource and resolutions provided.
- Supporting clubs in reaching resolutions to event planning queries.
- Supporting the annual production of material relating to the National Competition Rules, working with sporting discipline leads to ensure their respective regulations are correctly adopted.
- Assisting with the preparation of meeting paperwork for the Specialist Committees and associated Sub / Working groups.
- Assisting with the ongoing delivery of the Stage Rally Safety Requirements (RallyFuture).
- Providing support to other members of the Sporting team to assist in the completion of special projects.
- At times, attending weekend events with or on behalf of the Head of Rallying and Head of Cross Country & Clubsport.
- Any other tasks within the post-holder’s capabilities as instructed by the Sport & Safety Director or Head of Rallying
- Assist in the administration of Clubsport Championships (Autotest & Trials)

Essential
- Prior customer service experience, dealing with complex queries, and communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including telephone manner.
- Demonstrable accuracy and attention to detail.
- Disciplined time management and organisational skills, with an ability to evidence logical prioritisation of work.
- A flexible, collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Evidence of implementing new ways of working to improve both efficiency and effectiveness.
- Foundational software skills / experience, including Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Collaborative platforms (SharePoint, Google, similar).
- The ability to travel to and from the Motorsport UK offices in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Prior experience (either working or competing) and knowledge of the Rally discipline, as well as a passion for motorsport in general.
- Familiarity with the governance structure of International Motorsport (FIA Sporting Codes).
- Familiarity with the governance of UK Motorsport and the Motorsport UK National Competition Rules (NCR)

Medical and Membership Administrator

Join Our Team as a Medical and Membership Administrator at Motorsport UK!
The Membership team at Motorsport UK is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to its members, ensuring prompt and efficient processing of annual competition licence applications. Certain competitors are required to provide detailed medical information to support their licence applications, ensuring the safety of all participants in the competitive environment.
The Medical and Membership Administrator will play a key role in specifically focused on handling applications from competitors who need to submit this enhanced medical information. The primary objectives associated with this role will be:
- To provide administrative and customer service support to members, specifically on all medical licensing matters, in line with the prevailing medical requirements of approved competitor applications.
- To coordinate the flow of required information between members and Motorsport UK’s medical panel to streamline the application and approval process.
- Support the Membership team with the normal day-to-day activities such as processing member applications, renewals, and answering queries.
Additional Responsibilities
In addition to the primary objectives listed above, the Medical and Membership Administrator will be responsible for:
- Liaising with retained medical consultants to obtain approval for applications
- Corresponding with applicants and ensuring that they are kept up to date on the progress of their application and any additional information that might be required
- Processing competition and other licence registrations as part of the Membership team
- At times act as observer to the Medical Cross-Discipline Committee
- Liaising with Motorsport UK Medical Advisors and the Motorsport UK Chief Medical Officer (CMO) as part of the approvals process
- Acting as the first point of contact for applicants with medical conditions and general medical enquiries by all forms of communication (telephone, email, and letter)
- Acting as the first point of contact for disabled drivers, providing advice and guidance
- Developing and maintaining an accurate case status log
- Escalating more complex medical issues to the CMO for Motorsport UK/Medical Advisor
- Regularly reviewing the systems and processes within the Medical Function to ensure the most effective experience for applicants with medical conditions
- Ensuring all processes around medical administration are accurately documented and kept up to date in line with latest guidance
- Ensuring records are maintained in a confidential manner respecting all General Data Protection Regulations and guidelines for medical data.

- Ability to maintain the highest levels of integrity when handling confidential information
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office
- The ability to travel to the Motorsport UK offices
- Eligible to work within the UK.
Desirable But Not Essential
- A basic understanding of health issues (such as cardiac problems, epilepsy, respiratory conditions) which may impact on a driver’s ability to safely control a vehicle
- Previous experience of working within a medical setting.
