The British Racing & Sports Car Club is delighted to announce that Daniella Sutton has been selected as the winner of the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship Scholarship for 2024. 

The three-day competition took place at Blyton Park in Lincolnshire, where more than fifty young drivers spanning a wide range of experience and racing backgrounds took part in their bid to secure a fully-funded season of Fiesta Junior racing for the 2024 season. 

Across the qualifying days on Tuesday and Wednesday, the participants were put through their paces with multiple track driving assessments, fitness tests and media interviews, before six drivers were selected on each day to progress to Thursday’s Scholarship final.  

The drivers were assessed by an expert panel of judges, with renowned touring car stars Matt Neal, Josh Cook, Paul O’Neill, Aiden Moffat and Danny Buxton all lending their expertise to oversee the assessments and to select those who impressed the most to progress through each stage.  

Experienced motorsport presenter Richard John Neil was also on hand for the media interviews, providing his feedback on each of the drivers’ off-track performances, while So Fit Group performed the fitness workouts to test their athletic ability. 

More on-track and media interview assessments were conducted on Thursday morning before a final six drivers were chosen from the twelve finalists to go forwards into a final shoot-out.  

After each were given one last chance to impress the instructors and assessors, the incredibly difficult final decision was made to choose the winner, with Daniella Sutton announced as the Scholarship champion at the end of the day. 

Daniella will now progress forwards into a full season of racing in the 2024 BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship in a Pro Alloys Racing-prepared Ford Fiesta Mk7 Zetec junior race car, with race entry fees, BRSCC membership, championship registration, ARDS training and test all taken care of as part of the prize.  

In addition, Josh Cook will serve as a driver coach for the year, along with receiving a dedicated pre-event simulator programme courtesy of BRSCC partners SIM Motorsport, and P1 Racewear race suit and Stilo race helmet courtesy of Nicky Grist Motorsport. Professional race team support, tyres, fuel, consumables and more are also covered as part of the prize package, worth in excess of £65,000.
