Tender applications are now open for the tyre supply to the Cadet and Bambino karting classes from 2024.

To keep with the ethos of the categories, just one tyre supplier for each category will be chosen to maintain a level playing field and keep costs down.

Emphasis will be placed on a number of key elements including tyre consistency, durability and environmental considerations, including the elimination of single-use packaging for tyres.

This also aligns with Motorsport UK’s commitment to environmental sustainability as the governing body seeks to manage the environmental impact of the sport.

The Cadet class is one of the most popular in the UK and gives those between the age of 8 to 12 the opportunity to enter cost-effective competitive karting before graduating to more powerful machinery in the higher ranks.

Formula 1 stars George Russell, Alex Albon and Lando Norris, along with reigning British Touring Car champion Tom Ingram, all cut their teeth in Cadets.

Meanwhile the Bambino class, open for ages 6 to 8, will be invigorated by the introduction of the new Motorsport UK Electric Bambino category joining the fray next year.

Multiple top-level drivers kickstarted their motorsport journey in Bambino, including Zak Drummond, Freddie Slater, Nathan Tye and Arvid Lindblad.
