Motorsport UK mourns the loss of Richard Parry-Jones

Friday 16 April 2021

Motorsport UK are deeply saddened by the loss of Richard Parry-Jones, who has passed away at the age of 69.

Richard was Chairman of our British Motor Sports Training Trust and a great friend and supporter of Motorsport UK and its community.

The former Group Vice-President-Global Product Development, Chief Technical Officer and Head of Global R&D Operations at Ford leaves an indelible mark on the automotive industry and motorsport.

A personal message from Motorsport UK Chairman David Richards:

“Richard was a motorsport enthusiast through and through. Not only did he compete on rallies himself but being a proud Welshman he also nurtured Welsh rallying talent onto the world stage. It took little persuasion for him to take on the role of Chairman of the British Motor Sports Training Trust and through this and his many other roles he made an enormous contribution to motorsport in this country. Over the years, Richard became a close friend and during lockdown we had regular weekly calls. His experience and well-considered advice will be greatly missed by myself and his many friends in the motorsport community.”

Motorsport UK extends heartfelt condolences to Richard’s family and friends, who are in our thoughts and prayers.
