This National Motorsport Week, our vibrant club community are the beating heart of motorsport across the UK, with activities and events providing opportunities to try out our sport.

Wigton Motor Club, famed as one of the most active motor clubs in the UK, is always keen to attract newcomers into motorsport.

As part of National Motorsport Week the Club arranged for 15 of their younger members to take part in a Let’s Go Karting session at the Rowrah Kart circuit hosted by Cumbria Kart Racing Club.

The youngsters ranged from six to 15 and were equally split between boys and girls. The Club paid for the initial sessions and then several parents or grand parents bought them s second session. Some of the youngsters are already competitors in autotests and targa rallies but for most this was their first time on a kart.  They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to do it again.
