British Teenagers Crowned Karting Champions
Congratulations to Kenzo Craigie and Noah Baglin, two of Britain’s brightest young karting talents who have been crowned Champions of the Future after a thrilling finale in Sweden.
More than 200 of the world’s top junior drivers competed in Kristianstad for the fifth and final round of this year’s Euro Series.
Craigie, 14, arrived at the Asum Ring finale as the series leader in the OK class, with Spain’s Christian Costoya and Belgium’s Thiboaut Ramaekers close behind in the standings. All three contenders were among the frontrunners throughout the weekend, but Craigie’s second-place finish in the Final was enough to clinch the title — a crown won last year by fellow Brit Joe Turney.
Turney finished fifth overall this time, while two more British drivers, Roman Kamyab and Noah Wolfe, also secured top-ten championship positions.
In the OK-Junior category, Baglin faced a far tougher challenge. He entered the finale in third place, 31 points adrift of leader William Calleja of Australia. Undeterred, the 13-year-old surged into the lead on the second lap of the Final and never looked back, taking maximum points. With Calleja failing to score, Baglin secured the championship, while Britain’s Henry Domain finished fourth overall.
Both Craigie and Baglin are already tipped as future Formula 1 stars. Craigie joined the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Junior Programme in 2023 after dominating the British karting scene. He further underlined his credentials last season with a standout OK-Junior campaign, winning the FIA Karting World Championship and finishing third in the Champions of the Future Euro Series.
Baglin, meanwhile, was signed by the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy earlier this year, following in the footsteps of British talents Callum Ilott and Ollie Bearman, who also earned support from the Scuderia.
