50-year celebrations as International McRae Rally Challenge heads to Knockhill
This 20 and 21 September, Knockhill Circuit will host one of the biggest celebrations of Rally since Colin McRae was crowned Britain’s first World Rally Champion in 1995.
The event not only celebrates 50 years of Jimmy Mcrae in the driving seat but is also is a fitting tribute as Knockhill celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Celebrating the McRae family lineage, the event will not only commemorate Colin becoming the youngest ever World Rally Champion but also recognises Alister a previous MRC winner and 3rd generation star Max McRae who is currently taking on the world stage.
The third running of the International McRae Rally Challenge will take place at the home of Scottish motorsport, last billed at Knockhill in 2022, promising dramatic on-stage rally action.
The International McRae Rally Challenge event is a special invitational for leading national and international rally crews, which will feature two one-day single venue rallies, a Junior rally event and will also see the named “McRae’s Corner” in use once again.
Holly Mcrae will be joining the action and trying out co-driving for herself for the first time!
Motorsport UK’s Chairman David Richards, founder of Prodrive, and winner of the 1981 World Rally Championship as a co-driver, is also amongst the line up of guests including Sir Chris Hoy, Stig Blomqvist, Louise Aitken-Walker and Derek Ringer.
