Motorsport UK expands commitment to sporting diversity; Inclusion Grant officially taking applications
Applications are now open for Motorsport UK’s Inclusion Grant; a new initiative created by Motorsport UK to empower our community and diversify our sport.
The Inclusion Grant provides targeted funding to help remove barriers and enable greater participation from underrepresented communities, specifically across those wanting to compete and volunteer in the sport at any level.
Forming part of Motorsport UK’s broader Inclusion Strategy, the Inclusion Grant has been launched to enable organisations, individuals or groups to align with Motorsport UK’s commitment to expand and grow its community of licence holders, by attracting new participants into motorsport.
Motorsport UK will support projects that demonstrate potential growth of Motorsport UK competition licence holders, esport members and the club community or support the training of new marshals and officials. All projects must showcase clear goals, accountability, and alignment with our inclusion priorities.
Potential recipients can apply for grants from £100 up to £10,000 that support impactful projects that help individuals from underrepresented groups access new opportunities within motorsport. Motorsport UK anticipates that, in any given year, the portfolio of successful applicants will comprise of one larger-scale and several smaller-scale projects.
Motorsport UK may provide funding for up to a maximum of three years, but grantees must submit a new application every year. Thereafter, it is expected that the programme will have achieved a level of sustainability, and no further funding will be provided
Applications are open to UK based organisations, such as registered charities, Community Interest Companies, not-for-profit initiatives or Motorsport UK Clubs. Applications will go through a three-stage review, including eligibility checks, committee review, and final sign-off by the Motorsport UK Board.

Jessica Runicles, Head of Sustainability, Motorsport UK, comments, “We have always been aware that we need to diversify our sport. This grant is an opportunity to empower our community and underrepresented groups to use their lived experience in creating a more inclusive sport. We hope that this opportunity will enable organisations, individuals or groups to explore motorsport – and we have seen this reflected in our current programmes, such as British Women Racing Driver’s programme: IntoSpeed, introducing even more women to Hill Climb.”
Nicole Bearne, Motorsport UK Board Member and Chair of the EDI Committee, added, “This Inclusion Grant is a vital part of our commitment to making motorsport more accessible and representative of the communities we serve. By supporting organisations and groups who share our ambition to grow participation, we hope to remove barriers and create new pathways into the sport. This fund is about investing in ideas that will inspire more competitors, volunteers and fans to take part – ultimately strengthening the future of motorsport in the UK.”
The Inclusion Grant is officially launched today [Tuesday 16 September], during National Inclusion Week 2025 – a nationwide campaign which this year focuses on ‘Now is the Time’ to ensure that inclusion is a core part of organisational culture – and Motorsport UK is now welcoming applications until 6 October 2025.
The Motorsport UK Inclusion Grant complements the existing Club Development Fund and Kart Development Fund, supporting the community in delivering programmes to grow the sport.
