Grizedale Stages Rally returns this Saturday…

Friday 05 December 2025

This years Grizedale Stages Rally pitches the very best drivers from England, Wales and Scotland against each other over the superb forest roads of the Lake District.

Coppermines Grizedale Stages Rally is a round of the Scottish Rally Championship, BTRDA, and
Motorsport UK English championships, the only rally this year to feature all of these championships (not to mention ANECCC, HRCR Stage Masters and MG3 Challenge).

Furness District Motor Club have a reputation for running a well-organised, compact event on what was
rated as one of the best three gravel stages in the UK according to Revolution magazine.

There is plenty of National pride to play for on the 42 stage miles of Grizedale which uses both east and west sides of the forest, together on the same day, for the first time in over 30 years.

It features just 32 road miles. However, the addition of the all the main national championships meant that the quality of the field is one of the best seen on any National rally all year, despite the fact the overall titles have been finalised.

Whilst some events struggle for marshals, Grizedale finds itself with over 200 marshals, some 40% above
the minimum number required.

Now they say they just need to get control of the weather, having suffered from an unexpected snow bomb
in 2023 and Storm Daragh putting paid to the 2024 edition. The snow on the hills, which has arrived
already, makes the backdrop to the rally stunningly scenic.
