British Touring Cars returns to Knockhill this weekend

Tuesday 12 August 2025

The British Touring Car Championship will return to Knockhill, Scotland this weekend, with 15,000 fans expected over the two-day event on 16 and 17 August.

Huge home support is expected for three times champion Gordon Shedden, multi-race winner Aiden Moffat and Independent racer Dexter Paterson, the Saltires are sure to be flying high.

Gordon ‘Flash’ Shedden, from Auchterarder, has had a challenging return to Touring Cars this season, but after recently winning at Oulton Park and now recording five points-scoring finishes in a row. For Aiden Moffat, from Edinburgh, it was a combination of elation and devastation at Croft last time out as he led Race 3 from Pole Position, had a commanding lead, only for the Safety Car to come out, before being unceremoniously punted off the track.

Aiden too has scored strong points in the last four rounds and will be aiming for the podium at the track where previously he became the youngest ever BTCC driver at the age of 16.

For Glasgow-based Dexter Patterson, the 2025 season has seen him battling for the Independents and Jack Sears Trophy finishes for drivers who are newer to the BTCC. Croft saw him take home silverware and has now elevated himself to 5th place in the two categories.

The Wera Tools F4 British Championship will also join the packed racing programme, following a successful weekend in Zandvoort for Ary Bansal and Fionn McLaughlin.

Action starts at 9am on Saturday 16 with practice for the BTCC, qualifying for all the support classes and races for the F4’s, Minis and Porsche Sprint championship, with the highlight being the BTCC shoot-out style qualifying session.
