Could the next FIA World Championship Rally driver hail from Ilkley and District Motor Club?
Motorsport UK’s British StreetCar EcoRally could see you become an FIA World Championship driver in under six months, by taking part in an upcoming event for EV and Hybrid vehicles run by Ilkley and District Motor Club on 14 June.
The event runs under the StreetCar programme that enables drivers to try out a range of motorsport events from behind the wheel of their own everyday road car. Launched in 2022, there are now over 60 affiliated motor clubs around the UK, showcasing the affordability and accessibility of motorsport around the country.
The EcoRally is a unique opportunity for Hybrid and EVs to compete, with the focus on efficiency and team skill over speed.
This year, StreetCar’s EcoRally will see EV and Hybrid vehicle owners to compete for a chance to win a discounted place in round eight of the 2025 Bridgestone FIA EcoRally Cup, by taking part in one of the qualifying events.
The ECO Rally 12 Car will take place on 14 June. The events starts west of Bolton Abbey in the layby on the A59 and finishes at the Bay Horse, Skipton. Teams will have to navigate the route using a mixture of map references, tulip diagrams and other formats, plotting the most effective
