IntoSpeed: Introducing more women into Hill Climb this 2026
The British Women Racing Drivers’ Club (BWRDC) IntoSpeed initiative returns for 2026, at even more locations around the UK. IntoSpeed offers increased opportunities for women to try motorsport for the first time, getting even more women into motorsport.
The programme centres around Hill Climb, the most accessible of motorsport disciplines, contested against the clock in a range of easily accessible and affordable road cars throughout the UK. As part of its ongoing commitment to increase female participation throughout the sport, Motorsport UK has contributed funding towards the programme.
The IntoSpeed with the BWRDC programme is designed to introduce women to the thrills and rewards of motorsport competition, providing taster days, expert driver tuition and even the opportunity to compete at events.
No experience is needed, and it is open to women of all ages from 18 upwards. There is no expensive outlay for safety equipment as the venues for the taster days can provide helmets, and attendees can use their own road car to take part.
For the year ahead, the programme will offer participants the chance to attend a Taster Day at either Harewood Hill (26 March) or Gurston Down (7 April). Here they will focus on getting comfortable in a car and learn the different ‘basics’ associated with motorsport such as timing and safety, before driving the Hillclimb course.
Helen Allen, Chair of the BWRDC, commented: “We are proud to be once again working with Motorsport UK to continue our IntoSpeed programme, introducing even more women into motorsport. We are thrilled to continue this for 2026 and look forward to introducing more women to the Hill Climbing discipline. Whether it’s taking part in our women-only taster days, with expert driver tuition from experienced instructors, SIM training, up to competing at events, we will guide you through.”
With competitive pricing, why not consider the gift of Intospeed this Christmas…
