Motorsport UK announces Adrienne Watson to join the Board for 2026; and thanks long-serving member Nicky Moffitt for his services
Motorsport UK is pleased to confirm the appointment of Adrienne Watson to its Board, effective 1 January 2026. Her appointment comes as long-serving Director Nicky Moffitt steps down from the Board after more than five decades of dedicated service to motorsport. Nicky will continue in his role of Chair of Rally Committee in 2026. Adrienne was elected by the Motorsport UK Council in the 14 October 2025 vote, and confirmed by the Board in November, effective 1 January 2026 for an initial term of three years.
Welcoming Adrienne Watson to the Board
With a 30-year career spanning championship coordination, regulation writing and high-level officiating, Adrienne Watson brings a wealth of experience to the Motorsport UK Board.
Adrienne began her motorsport journey with the British Racing Drivers’ Club before becoming Championship Co-ordinator for several major series, including the British Touring Car Championship during the Super Touring era and Formula BMW in the UK and Europe. Her expertise in regulations and event operations later led her to stewarding, where she has served since 2012.
In 2022, Adrienne was appointed the Motorsport UK Steward for the Formula 1 Lenovo British Grand Prix, becoming the only female member of the panel at her home race. A visible advocate for women in motorsport, she has long championed opportunity through merit and inspired others to pursue roles across the sport.
David Richards, Motorsport UK Chair, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Adrienne to the Board. Her depth of experience, particularly in championship management and stewarding at the highest levels, will be invaluable as Motorsport UK continues to strengthen its governance and support the future of the sport. Adrienne’s perspective, leadership and commitment to fair competition will be a tremendous asset.”
Thanking Nicky Moffitt for his distinguished service
Motorsport UK also recognises the exceptional contribution of Nicky Moffitt, who steps down from the Board after a lifetime of service across Northern Ireland and the wider UK motorsport community.

Beginning as a marshal in the 1960s, Nicky went on to compete successfully in rallying, becoming 1979 Northern Ireland Stage Rally Champion co-driver and placing third overall as a driver in 1984. His officiating career has been equally remarkable: a Motorsport UK Steward since 1975, he has officiated almost every weekend across all disciplines and levels, and since 2015 has served as a Motorsport UK Safety Delegate.
Nicky has also made a significant governance impact through his long-standing roles with the Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs, the Motorsport UK Regional Committee and Council, and he will continue to serve as Chair of the Rallies Committee, alongside retaining his seat on the Motor Sports Council.
Chairman David Richards added:
“Nicky’s contribution to motorsport is extraordinary and spans every level of the sport. His experience, commitment and integrity have shaped the governance of motorsport across the UK, and his influence will be felt for many years to come. On behalf of the Board and the wider community, I extend our sincere thanks for his outstanding service.”
Looking Ahead
As Motorsport UK prepares for 2026 and beyond, the organisation remains committed to strong governance, inclusivity and maintaining the highest standards across the sport. The appointment of Adrienne Watson, alongside recognition of Nicky Moffitt’s remarkable service, reflects that ongoing responsibility.
