With the introduction of a new support race to the Formula 1 stage, Motorsport UK are providing an insight into the talented British drivers that are on track at this weekend’s British Grand Prix.

Sir Lewis Hamilton

With seven world championships under his belt and a record-breaking number of race wins, Sir Lewis Hamilton is considered not only the best British driver but a global icon. This year, Hamilton continues to provide much of the spectacle on the track and is clearly demonstrating that he has an eighth world championship in the tank.

Lando Norris

McLaren’s Lando Norris has shown this season that age is but a number, achieving an impressive three podium finishes and restoring McLaren to top three in the Constructors’ Championship. Norris has even given Sir Lewis Hamilton a run for his money at times and left his former midfield peers trailing in his wake. The McLaren fans and British spectators will be expecting a great performance from Norris at his home track.

George Russell

George Russell, who many have pegged as a future World Champion, returns to the Silverstone track for the 2021 season in his third year for British team Williams Racing. Russell has shown great progress, reaching Q3 at the Austrian Grand Prix, and P8 in first qualifying at Silverstone on Friday. Is there more to come in the new Sprint Qualifying?

Jamie Chadwick

W Series is supporting F1 at the British Grand Prix with Jamie Chadwick, the very first champion of the W Series, looking to extend her lead in the title race. With 33 points in hand, Chadwick is currently the top performing British driver in the series and will be looking to make history on the hallowed asphalt at Silverstone.

Alice Powell

Alice Powell is one of the top three drivers in W Series and has challenged fellow driving talent Jamie Chadwick in the first two rounds. However, Powell will also be looking out for her protégé Abbi Pulling who will be on track with the W Series.

Sarah Moore

The other British driver topping the field is Sarah Moore, currently placed second in the W Series standings and only 3 points away from the top spot. With Moore’s experience can she challenge her British competitors and take the lead at the home of motorsport?

Jessica Hawkins

Another British driver featuring in the W Series is current Racing X Driver Jessica Hawkins, who is ready to make an impact in the championship and on the global British Grand Prix stage. Aston Martin fans will be sure to cheer on the team ambassador and look forward to the W Series driver go full throttle across the weekend sessions.

Abbie Eaton

W Series driver Abbie Eaton is not far off the top ten group, with racing rivals Tomaselli and Agren within close distance of reaching that goal. Eaton’s experience within motorsport is sure to stand her in good stead and get her higher up the grid and collect those vital points for the championship.

Abbi Pulling

Not only will the W Series be making a historic debut at the British Grand Prix, but so will passionate youngster Abbi Pulling, following in the footsteps of mentor Alice Powell. After her career in Formula 4 and impressing at her W Series test, Pulling is definitely one to watch.

Dan Ticktum

Ticktum will be racing in Formula 2 over the Grand Prix weekend, aiming to replicate Race 2 in the Monte Carlo round, where the driver took pole position and achieved his best performance yet in the 2021 season.

Jack Aitken

British driver and Motorsport UK Academy alumni Jack Aitken will not be making it easy for fellow F2 driver Dan Ticktum, skilfully climbing his way up the grid to secure points for him and his team HWA Racelab. Aitken is sure to make an impression on the Silverstone circuit and utilise his knowledge gained from his reserve driver experience at Williams Racing.
