Get up to speed this weekend – 18-19 September

Friday 17 September 2021

More motorsport action takes place across the UK this upcoming weekend. Take a look at what’s on offer:

British Touring Car Championship – Round 7 at Croft

The British Touring Car Championship heads to Croft where current championship leader Ash Sutton could further secure a championship victory. In the previous round at Thruxton, Josh Cook won the opener ahead of Sutton and current runner-up Tom Ingram. However, Sutton managed to pass Cook in the follow up race, crossing the line with less than a second between the two drivers.

Can Cook replicate his result from the 2020 race at Croft and finish the weekend on the podium?

F4 British Championship – Rounds, 19, 20 & 21 at Croft

British driver Matthew Rees currently sits at the top of the standings, with Matias Zagazeta and James Hedley closing the gap with each round that passes. After setting the benchmark time in qualifying at Thruxton and finishing the finale race at the front of the grid, Briton Oliver Gray is sure to challenge the top three championship leaders at the North Yorkshire track this weekend.

With only four races left until the end of the 2021 season, will Rees get ahead of the grid at Croft and be closer to claiming the championship victory?

British Kart Championship – Rotax, Honda and KZ2 Event 4 at Warden Law

The upcoming race weekend at Warden Law marks the final round of the 2021 KZ2 championship, with the Rotax and Honda classes competing in their penultimate championship round. Ryan Cannon sits at the top of the KZ2 standings heading into this event, with 22 points between him and privateer Tom Longfield.

As for the Rotax championship, Ethan Jeff-Hall leads in the Mini Max, Olly Stevens races ahead in the Junior Rotax class, the Senior Rotax group is currently led by number #2 kart Rhys Hunter, and Strawberry Racing’s Daniel Tate sits at the top of the Rotax 177 standings. Warden Law will be an opportunity for these drivers to further secure their place in the championship ahead of the final round next month at PFi (16-17 October).

The Honda drivers will also be motivated to claim those crucial points at Warden Law, with only a four-point gap between current class leader Timo Jungling and Ambition Motorsport’s Joshua Graham.

How will the standings look at the end of the weekend? Who will be closer to claiming a championship victory?
