The Porsche Experience Centre in Silverstone hosted the Girls on Track UK Networking Event on Wednesday 11 May with more than 70 members of the community in attendance.   

Hosted by Broadcaster Rosanna Tennant, guest speakers included Ariana Bravo, F1 Presenter and Podcaster, Charlotte Phelps, Lead Systems Engineer at W Series, and Emma Yates, HR Business Partner with Alpine F1 Team.  

Women in Motorsport Sub-committee Chair and Motorsport UK Board Member, Helen Bashford-Malkie, joined the list of guest speakers and shared her experiences of working in the sport and the huge number of opportunities out there for women to volunteer in motorsport. From Porsche passenger rides to knowledge and advice from some inspirational women in motorsport, the Community Network Event was an opportunity for participants to enjoy the sport as well as share experiences and advice.  

With a vibrant community, the participants took to social media to share some stories and how the evening inspired them.  

On LinkedIn, Megan Tidbury, a Content and Communications Co-ordinator commented, “I’m so thankful to be part of this incredible community and have the chance to meet and hear stories from some truly inspiring women in the motorsport industry! Plus, it was this group that helped me have the confidence to chase my dream job in motorsport!” 

Kiara Snowdon, a Marketing Assistant, wrote, “It was so amazing to meet people just like myself interested in a motorsport career! Couldn’t have asked for a better panel – Emma Yates, Charlotte Phelps, Helen Bashford-Malkie, Rosanna Tennant and Ariana Bravo with their stories and how willing they were to talk and give us all advice as well. 

“If I wasn’t motivated before, I definitely am now…can’t wait to attend another event!” 

Sasha Laverick, a Marketing Professional and Consultant, posted, “Such a fabulous evening at Porsche Experience Centre with Girls on Track listening to inspiring speakers and meeting up with my fellow motorsport community! 

“The thrill ride in the all-electric Porsche Taycan was an experience I won’t forget!” 

On Instagram, Claire Johnson (@_thenakedwarrior), Performance Coach and Women in Motorsport Expert posted, “Incredible evening yesterday with @girlsontrackuk at Porsche Experience Silverstone. Great to see so many industry friends, hear inspirational and powerful women talk about their roles within motorsport and see the next generation of females wanting to join this exciting industry plus get a personal tour of the Porsche Human Performance Centre.” 

Host, Rosanna Tennant (@rosannatennant), shared on Instagram, “It was fabulous to host last night’s @girlsontrackuk event at the @porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone. It’s always brilliant hearing how others got into motorsport and of course it’s wonderful to meet young and talented women who I hope will be my colleagues one day.”
