Wednesday 15 September 2021

Briton’s Oliver Stewart has been headhunted as one of 12 kart racers worldwide to attend the Richard Mille young talent academy shootout in Spain next month.

The Beauly teenager, who is the only British driver to be successfully selected based on a string of outstanding performances, will head to the Navarra Race Track on 11-13 October. Oliver will participate in a series of physical and mental assessments, driver interviews, and four sessions in an F4 race car throughout the three-day event. The final shootout will conclude with the top three drivers battling to secure a place in the 2022 F4 Spanish Championship.

Last month, the 14-year-old won the Little Green Man series after securing his second victory of the season in the final round at Little Rissington. He also sits second in the driver standings of the 2021 Wera Tools British Kart Championship, with the last event taking place on 9-10 October in Lincolnshire. Stewart will also compete at the World Kart Finals in Italy place in October this year.

“I’m sitting second in the Wera Tools British Kart Championship with one round to go. It’s a double-header with four point-scoring opportunities of 65 points. The heats and the final are on Saturday, and then on Sunday there will be another set of heats and another final,” said the headhunted karter.

Oliver competes at the national level in the IAME Junior X30 class, one of the top classes for junior drivers. For more information on the Wera Tools British Kart Championship, visit www.britishkartchampionships.org
