With seven drivers and two teams – Envision Virgin Racing and Jaguar Racing – flying the flag for Britain in the penultimate ABB FIA Formula E World Championship event, Motorsport UK takes a look at their Season 7 campaign before we go green in London on Saturday and Sunday.

Sam Bird

Championship leader Sam Bird won the Heineken London E-Prix back in 2015 and is the only driver to have recorded victories in every Formula E season to date. The 34-year-old Brit was the winner at the last race meeting in New York and took the top podium positions in Rome and Diriyah, but can he make it third time lucky on home turf with Jaguar Racing?

Oliver Rowland

The Nissan e.dams driver has had two disqualifications in Season 8 to date, but at the Puebla E-Prix, Oliver Rowland made it through to Super Pole and went on to take pole position. Sadly he couldn’t convert a lights-to-flag victory and crossed the checkered flag in third. But with just four points between Rowland and Britain’s Jake Dennis, will the 28-year-old be able to maintain his championship lead?

Jake Dennis

Rookie for the BMW i Andretti Motorsport team, Jake Dennis is the third highest Brit in this year’s driver standings. The Warwickshire-born driver secured his first ABB FIA Formula E Championship win in Valencia and has made it through to Super Pole three times in his inaugural season. Can he give Sam Bird a run for his money and finish the race as the highest place British driver at his home circuit?

Alexander Sims

Alexander Sims scored his debut victory last season and went on to claim three consecutive Julius Baer Pole Positions. Despite a second-place podium in Rome, this year has been an inconsistent season for the environmental and sustainability warrior. With four DNFs and one disqualification, can  the support of his home crowd bring the luck that he deserves?

Alex Lynn

After an accident at the second race in Diriyah which saw Alex Lynn’s car upturn and skate along the track, the 27-year-old driver went on to take his maiden Formula E podium with a third-place finish in Rome. Lynn has four Super Pole appearances, but like teammate Sims, has two DNFs and one disqualification placing him 10-points behind the driver in front of him in the driver standings. Will he be able to convert his qualifying pace into race pace?

Oliver Turvey

Oliver Turvey had a great start to the season placing his #8 car in Super Pole at the season opening and scoring points for the NIO 333 Formula E Team, but the Brit now has three consecutive DNFs to his name from the last three rounds. What can Oliver do to defy the odds and turn it around on home turf?

Tom Blomqvist

Tom Blomqvist electrified Formula E after being called up for the final two rounds in Season 6 for Jaguar Racing, where he made it through to Super Pole in his first competitive race in the all-electric race series. The Brit joined the NIO 333 Formula E team for Season 7 and has notched up 19 races, with an  eighth-place finish being the 27-year-old’s best point scoring position to date. Can Blomqvist finish higher up the grid with a home crowd behind him?
