Safeguarding Adults Week – Keeping EVERYBODY safe in motorsport
This week, we are proud to support Safeguarding Adults Week, led by the Ann Craft Trust. The week, running 17-21 November, spotlights the importance of protecting everybody in our community – not just children, but adults too.
Motorsport UK places the highest priority on safeguarding everyone who participates in our sport. Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility, and we all have a part to play in creating a safer, inclusive, respectful and supportive environment across every paddock, stage or permitted event. No matter your role in our community, knowing how to spot concerns and speak up helps to keep motorsport safer.
What does safeguarding adults mean?
Safeguarding adults is about:
- Recognising when someone might be at risk of harm
- Responding carefully and sensitively
- Creating a culture where everybody feels safe to speak up
It’s not just about responding to harm, it’s equally as important to prevent it too. Adults may be vulnerable for many reasons, including health, disability, mental wellbeing or situational pressures that arise in a high-pressure environment like motorsport, which means they could need additional support.
Our Commitment
Motorsport UK’s Safeguarding Team, the Safeguarding policies, Safeguarding Driving Safer Cultures training and the dedicated network of Club Safeguarding Officers ensure that our sport remains safe, respectful and inclusive.
How you can help:
Here are a few simple ways to support safeguarding this week — and all year round:
- Know the signs – Be alert to changes in behaviour, mood, or participation.
- Start the conversation – If something doesn’t feel right, talk to your club’s Safeguarding Officer.
- Respect boundaries – Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and respected.
- Keep learning – Take part in safeguarding training or refresh your knowledge.
- Look out for each other – We’re stronger and safer together.
