Goodwood Marshals Club
Club Information
About Us
Goodwood Marshals Club Limited
Although we are registered as a Motor club - we are a Marshals club with a Motorsport UK registered Rescue Unit
Goodwood Marshals Club started with an inaugural meeting at the Goodwood Flying Club in October 1998. The Duke of Richmond and Gordon kindly consented to be our President and remains so to this date. The Club has been registered with the Motorsport UK since April 1999, and we operate independently from the Goodwood group of companies.
As a club, we primarily support a wide variety of events that take place at Goodwood Motor Circuit throughout the year, including Sprints, AutoSOLOs and electric car events for schools and young people. However, our members are encouraged to visit other circuits around the country to broaden their knowledge and experience, as well as having a presence at the world famous Members’ Meeting, Festival of Speed and Revival events, all held at the circuit and on the wider Goodwood estate.
MARSHALS TRAINING
We hold an annual Motorsport UK training day so that members may carry out their role as marshals in core skills such as firefighting, first aid, flagging, incident marshalling and radio communication procedures. Our members have had many years of experience in marshalling across all disciplines, and this is shared with new and existing members.
GOODWOOD MARSHALS CLUB RESCUE UNIT
The Club operates a Rescue Unit which is fully licenced by the Motorsport UK. Our current vehicle was funded by the Just Giving fund started in memory of our dear friend and colleague, Rob Foote, with it proudly bearing his name and the orange heart that became synonymous with the support shown by the motorsport community following his tragic loss. The Goodwood Marshals Club Rescue Unit is available to provide cover for all aspects of motorsport events nationwide, for enquiries please email rescueadmin@goodwoodmarshalsclub.org.uk.
CHARITY TRACK DAYS
The Club organises charity track days each year to raise funds for selected charities, which are selected by the membership at our Annual General Meeting.
Previous charities supported have included: Race Against Dementia, The Goodwood Education Trust, Canine Partners, The Brain Tumour Charity, Sussex Search and Rescue, Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice, Cancerwise, KSS Air Ambulance and many more.
