Loncin Cadets launched at East of Scotland Kart Club

Tuesday 04 November 2025

The Prokart section at East of Scotland Kart Club has seen an increase in popularity, with ten permitted events run per year by the Club.

The ESKC established a two-fold initiative and introduced a clone 4 stroke engine (Loncin), with the support of a very generous sponsor Lifescience Technologies Ltd, the Club put in place a “pooled engine” Championship for its Loncin Cadets class.

The ESKC took further initiative and looked for donations for Cadet karts of an older age bracket and to launch its programme; “Creating drivers for the future of Scottish Karting”. The Club sells     prepared karts to new families for just £1, with a buy back clause that if the child decides to leave the sport or progresses to mainstream kart classes, the kart is sold back for the same £1 fee.

The Club has seen 23 different drivers over an eight-round championship, and we have several new drivers waiting to get started in 2026.

Several of the 2025 drivers having decided to make that forward step, proving that the initiative has indeed “created” drivers for the future of Scottish Karting.
