Electrified Vehicles

Motorsport UK actively encourages its member clubs and organisers to adopt Electrified Vehicles into their events, whilst recognising its responsibility to ensure that spectators, marshals, officials and competitors are participating in a safe environment.

This section of the Club Toolkit provides guidance and access to resources to help ensure all members can continue to participate in a safe and controlled manner.

Introduction to Electrified Vehicles

There are four types of Electrified Vehicle:

  • Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (mHEV)
  • Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV)
  • Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
  • Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)

mHEV is classified as low voltage. HEV, PHEV and BEV are classified as high voltage (HV). HV is defined as being above 60V DC.

The Motorsport UK Electrified Vehicles Regulations that can be accessed directly via the link below only apply to HV vehicles.
