2023 Shenington SuperPrix & Historic Revival to take centre stage on Motorsport UK TV
Live streaming has been confirmed for this weekend’s 2023 Shenington SuperPrix & Historic Revival, with Alpha Live broadcasting all the action from the Oxfordshire event live on Motorsport UK TV this Sunday afternoon (July 16).
Known to be one of the biggest club kart meetings of the year with 320 entries across multiple classes, plus an additional 70 British Historic Kart Club members putting on demonstrations throughout the weekend, Sunday’s coverage will begin at 12:45pm with the historic karts followed by the main SuperPrix at 1:35pm.
The prestigious E Plate – signifying the English champion – is up for grabs at the event, with competitors from Motorsport UK British Kart Championship divisions IAME Waterswift Restricted, IAME Waterswift Intermediate, Junior TKM, TKM Extreme, Junior X30, Senior X30 and KZ2 all battling for the top honour. Entrants from the 210 National and TKM Clubman classes are also in contention.
After Saturday’s practice, qualifying and first heats, the action really ramps up by the time streaming begins on Sunday, with the remaining heats and then the Grand Final taking place.
‘Sheny’, as it is affectionately known, is considered one of Britain’s premier kart circuits and 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell is its Club President. The mix of fast straights and slow corners means the venue, located near Banbury, is one of – if not the only – kart circuit in the UK where overtaking is possible at every corner.
