Chadwick and Coulthard represent Team GB at Race of Champions
Motorsport UK Academy Team UK driver and Girls on Track UK ambassador Jamie Chadwick will team up with 13-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner David Coulthard at the 2022 Race of Champions next month.
The double W Series Champion will participate in the Race of Champions ‘Snow + Ice’ World Final in Pite Havsbad, Sweden, between 5-6 February. She will compete in the individual ‘Champion of Champions’ title and represent Team Great Britain alongside W Series advocate David Coulthard in the Race of Champions Nations Cup. It will be the first appearance for Chadwick but will mark the 13th entry for Coultard, a two-time Champion of Champions winner.
Jamie Chadwick said: “I’m super excited to make my Race of Champions debut in Sweden. It’s an event I’ve always loved watching, so I can’t wait to experience it for the first time. It’s going to be an honour to represent Great Britain with an icon like David Coulthard.”
“Race of Champions is an event I always enjoy competing in, but racing on snow and ice this year will be a very different experience to the stadium tracks,” said David Coulthard. “I have done some ice driving with AMG Mercedes in Sweden in the past, but it will be a challenge to beat the Nordic drivers in their element.”
Race of Champions was co-founded by the world’s most successful female driver Michele Mouton and designed to be a level playing field for men and women to compete. Over 30 years, only one female has competed in the main Race of Champions events, and that was Girls on Track UK (formerly Dare to be Different) Founder Susie Wolff. Susie competed alongside Coulthard in 2014 and finished in second place in the Nations Cup.
Held on the frozen Baltic Sea just 60 miles from the Arctic Circle, this year’s Race of Champions World Final will feature drivers with the most titles and/or wins from premier events and motorsport series. For more information on the event, click here.
