Disabled Drivers Grant

Launched at the beginning of 2019, The Disabled Drivers Grant offers national level drivers access to the highest FIA level safety gear to ensure that disabled racing is safe racing.

Open to all national level drivers or co-drivers who have a disability that presents mobility issues affecting their ability to exit a competition car unaided, the grant will provide the latest FIA level specification of race suit, underwear, gloves and shoes, as well as a safety fuel cell and fire extinguisher system. This is provided direct from the manufacturer and is supplied free of charge.

The DDG can only be applied for by individual drivers who hold a valid Motorsport UK licence. The grant has to be applied for either through Motorsport UK or directly to the FIA Disability and Accessibility Commission.

Applications for equipment to be installed in team cars is not permitted. All Applications are decided on a case-by-case basis by the FIA Disability and Accessibility Commission. Details of how to apply can be found on the FIA Disability and Accessibility page.
