Tuesday 13 July 2021

Motorsport UK is delighted to announce Enovation Consulting and Hexagon as two new partners for its Girls on Track UK programme. Both firms will support the governing body’s initiative to inspire girls to consider a future role within the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Girls on Track UK run events for girls aged 8-18, with schools across the country invited to bring classes to try fun motorsport-related challenges, designed to demonstrate potential careers within the motorsport and automotive sectors, including those in the STEM industry.

Activities include race car preparation, engineering challenges, coding, karting, reaction games and presenting to camera.

As official partners, Enovation Consulting and Hexagon will support the programme by delivering engineering activities, including an engaging Lego coding activity at each of the Girls on Track UK events for the remainder of the year.

Enovation Consulting is a purpose-driven company which amongst other services creates and delivers activations and community engagement activities in relation to sustainability and STEM. It is also a founding member of Tomorrow’s Engineers Code, a commitment to work towards common goals to increase the diversity and number of young people entering engineering careers.

Hexagon is a global leader in sensor, software and autonomous solutions. They put data to work to boost efficiency, productivity, and quality across industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, safety, and mobility applications. Its technologies are employed by automotive industry leaders such as Volkswagen and GM and are used to produce 95% of vehicles produced today, from design and engineering through production and inspection.

Motorsport UK CEO Hugh Chambers commented: “We are delighted to welcome Enovation Consulting and Hexagon as partners to Motorsport UK’s Girls on Track UK programme. One of our missions is to inspire and encourage more women into our sport and we want to do that in a dynamic and engaging way. Our relationship with Enovation Consulting and Hexagon will provide interesting activities for our members to get involved with, as well as real industry insight into cutting edge operations and the STEM facets within them. We look forward to working with our partners to progress our mission and carry on the momentum and growth of the Girls on Track UK initiative.”

Dr Cristiana Pace, Founder and Director of Enovation Consulting said: “I have been an ambassador of the Girls on Track UK programme since its very early days and have been lucky enough to see it grow and thrive. We are proud to have been chosen as an official STEM partner of the programme, as it allows us to become even more involved and inspire more girls in the future.”

Claire Waterson of Hexagon said: “The next generation engineers need new ideas, broader skills and a passion for technology to make better, more sustainable products and help the UK lead global innovation.” I am delighted to be working with Motorsport UK’s Girls on Track UK initiative.  We are especially excited to expand our Full STEAM Ahead! Programme, which we designed to bridge the skills and gender gap in coding and engineering, and get more girls involved in what I think is a very rewarding and exciting career.”
