Pedal to the metal for The Classic Car Drive In Weekend

Friday 11 September 2020

The organisers of next week’s The Classic Car Drive In Weekend (18-20 September) have affirmed that the innovative event will continue as announced.

Conceived from the outset as a covid-compliant automotive celebration centred around a drive in cinema and socially distanced classic car show, the ground-breaking three-day show is staged outdoors at Bicester Heritage, a  spacious 444-acre former WW2 RAF Bomber Training Station that is today home to the UK’s only Centre for Historic Motoring Excellence.

A full review of covid-compliancy has been undertaken following the introduction of the government’s latest ‘rule of six’ legislation and a number of additional secondary measures have been introduced to reinforce these new guidelines. These include revised signage and the provision of supplementary attendants to ensure the safety of all visitors. Ticket buyers will also now be limited to six tickets per booking.

“As well as being a fantastic chance to welcome back enthusiasts and provide the industry with a much-needed boost, The Classic Car Drive In Weekend was always designed to be totally covid compliant,” confirmed show director Bas Bungish. “I must, though, thank all those ticket buyers, exhibitors and other stakeholders who have shown their undiluted support for our endeavours in what are clearly challenging times. We all share their enthusiasm.”

We’re delighted to have teamed up with The Classic Car Show Team to offer Motorsport UK members a £5 discount on Full Experience show tickets – making them just £20 for adults and £15 children (aged 5-15).
