Digital Product Manager

Department: Operations

Location: Motorsport UK, Bicester Motion.

Hours of Work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week). Core hours are 09:00 until 17:30, Mon – Fri.

We are at the beginning of a journey of digital transformation within our sport. This role represents an opportunity to influence and develop the roadmap as we look to transform our entire member experience.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for entire lifecycle of a digital product, from its initial concept to its eventual retirement. They provide strategic and operational leadership across Motorsport UK’s digital platforms, with a particular focus on the Sport:80 platform.

The Digital Product Manager acts as the bridge between internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and technology partners—ensuring that the development and evolution of digital products align with the organisation’s objectives. This role combines strategic thinking and technical understanding with stakeholder engagement, product ownership, and oversight of internal IT operations.

Primary Objectives

The primary objectives associated with this role are:

  • Own and develop the strategic product roadmap for Sport:80 and all other digital products.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to define business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Manage third-party suppliers and development partners to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Promote adoption, usability, and optimisation of key platforms across the organisation.
  • Provide line management and leadership to the IT Manager to ensure operational continuity and support.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as product owner and subject matter expert for Sport:80, driving feature enhancements and prioritisation.
  • Liaise with senior management, technology vendors, and users to ensure a common understanding of platform objectives and deliverables.
  • Maintain a clear and updated digital development roadmap and ensure all parties are aligned to delivery milestones and the overall product vision.
  • Coordinate user testing, feedback gathering, and release planning across key platform initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or improvements to existing systems based on user needs, strategic priorities and market trends.
  • Lead procurement and contract management processes for third-party digital vendors.
  • Provide oversight of internal IT service delivery through line management of the IT Manager.
  • Ensure platforms meet data protection, security, and accessibility requirements.
  • Track key product metrics and make data driven decisions to optimise performance.
  • Manage all products from launch to end-of-life, including updates, maintenance and retirement.

Core Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Digital Product Manager, preferably with SaaS or platform-based products.
  • Understanding software development processes, web technologies and digital platforms.
  • Ability to effectively convey product vision, requirements and updates to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into business language.
  • Good problem solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during product development or launch.
  • Strong vendor and contract management capabilities, particularly with software development or third-party SaaS providers.
  • Experience identifying opportunities, managing product roadmaps and facilitating delivery processes.
  • An understanding of UX principles, user testing, and digital adoption strategies.
  • Comfortable working with APIs, data flows, and systems integration (though not necessarily hands-on technical).
  • Confidence in guiding and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve product goals.
  • Previous line management or team leadership experience.
  • Experience of interpreting data, measuring product performance and making data-driven decisions.
  • Structured, analytical, and delivery-oriented mindset whilst ensuring any product is user-friendly and meets user needs.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies such as Jira, Trello, Prince2, or Agile

Desirable Competencies

  • Experience in the sport industry, especially with membership-based organisations or governing bodies.
  • Understanding of the motorsport ecosystem, licensing models, or competition registration systems.
  • Experience with Sport:80 or similar platforms (e.g. member management, CRM, event administration).
  • Product Management certification (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner, AIPMM, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with GDPR and other digital compliance standards.
  • Awareness of accessibility best practices for digital platforms.
  • Comfortable with basic data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Smartsheet or Excel).
  • Previous experience leading platform migrations or digital transformation projects.

Marketing Executive

Join Our Team as a Marketing Executive at Motorsport UK!

This role is ideal for someone early in their marketing career who wants to develop their experience in a broad spectrum marketing role, working in the best sport going!

The Motorsport UK Marketing Executive performs a key role within the Marketing and Communications team to support the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, member engagement and commercial growth.

Reporting directly into the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Executive role is integral to the roll out of campaigns across multiple organisational workstreams and campaign initiatives, collaborating accordingly across all departments (the ‘clients’) to deliver campaigns that help get more people enjoying motorsport, more often.

Primary Objectives

The primary objectives associated with this role will be:

  1. Supporting the Marketing Manager with the implementation of marketing campaign plans across digital, social, content, email, and offline channels.
  2. Execute the day-to-day marketing operations including the execution of campaign plans (authored by the Marketing Manager), supporting across campaign production, and campaign execution. Ensuring all relevant documentation and campaign assets are saved to the server as per the specified server structure.
  3. Fulfilment of digital presences (email and websites) to ensure a consistent membership engagement strategy is executed, tracked, and optimised.

Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the primary objectives listed above, the Marketing Executive will be responsible for:

  • Member Engagement support: supporting all key membership interactions such as regular email communications, member surveys, and renewals processes to ensure all interactions (whether digital or physical) make it easy and enjoyable for people to get into the sport and keep them doing it for many years.
  • Events Marketing support: supporting the Marketing Manager with events marketing and contractual promotional support to high-profile internal and external events.
  • Workflow support: ensuring the MarComms project ‘mothership’ is kept up to date with upcoming ‘cultural’ events and all key event dates (championships, external events etc.). This is alongside owning the MarComms team whereabouts tracker, ensuring it is kept up to date with events the team are attending throughout the year.
  • Campaign process support: ensuring the two key campaign documents (Campaign planner & Tone of Voice document) are executed accordingly for each campaign supporting the Marketing Manager in the creation of all assets to deliver.
  • Digital ticket management: attending the ‘daily creative huddle’ to update the Marketing Manager on the status of digital tickets (email and website update requests) ensuring briefs are received and delivered in a high quality and timely manager, working with the Marketing Manager for input and support where needed.
  • Client management: liaising directly with organisational owner (the client’s) to communicate when digital tasks such as emails and website updates have been actioned accordingly.

Core Competencies

Below are the core competencies, knowledge, and skills required to be successful in this role:

  1. A relevant Marketing degree or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  2. An engaging personality, with a collaborative and ‘can-do’ attitude.
  3. Great organisational skills to own specific deliverables end to end and ensure the team delivers for our clients.
  4. Strong communication skills to liaise with the wider MarComms team to deliver campaigns, alongside the client management process along the way.
  5. Excellent visual and writing skills to judge creative with, often providing copy amendments to email copy, or to the design team in the creation of email and web graphics.
  6. Hard work ethic and high degree of integrity with the ability to work and manage time independently and prioritise tasks.
  7. A flexible approach when working as an important part of a team.
  8. Knowledge of and interest in motorsport.
