Thursday 09 May 2024

The Ultimate Kart Championship (UKC) will begin a new era of karting under a Motorsport UK permit, kicking off its season opener at Kimbolton on 11-12 May.

With a record number of over 260 drivers registered, the UKC series will be hosted over six rounds, offering expanded racing opportunities at tracks across the UK and the chance to collect upgrade signatures as they progress through the Motorsport UK Karting Championships Pathway.

In a partnership with Alpha Live, all races will be broadcast live, bringing all the action to a global audience, and will also be shown on Motorsport UKs new you tube channel Karting UK.

Also new for 2024 and recognising the UKC Championship’s prestige, the top 10 finishers in each class will be awarded a new European style triple number, recognised at Motorsport UK events and acknowledging the significant achievements of UKC drivers in the UK.

This year’s UKC championship promises unprecedented innovations, including the implementation of CCTV on the track and an international-style stewards’ panel.

The 2024 season will span six rounds across some of the UK’s premier karting circuits:

Kimbolton: 11-12 May

Whilton Mill: 1-2 June

Warden Law: 22-23 June

3 Sisters: 27-28 July

GYG: 17-18 August

Rowrah: 14-15 September

Competitors will have the opportunity to drop their lowest round score.

Classes for the 2024 season will include; Micro Max, Mini Inter, Junior Rotax, Senior Rotax, Honda GX200 and TKM Extreme.

The Karting Championships Pathway, launched in 2022, was launched to increase participation in karting at events at all levels.

Dan Parker, Head of Karting at Motorsport UK, comments, “We are thrilled to usher in a new era of the Ultimate Kart Championship under the auspices of Motorsport UK. The impressive registration of over 260 drivers is a testament to UKC’s record of running high-level professional events.

“Furthermore, our new partnership with UKC offers drivers a new championship pathway, and alongside their collaboration with Alpha Live, we are set to significantly elevate the visibility of Karting and the UKC championship. By awarding UKC drivers European-style triple numbers to the top 10 finishers in each class, we are not only recognising the accomplishments of UKC drivers but also recognising the stature of UKC drivers in the UK. We look forward to an exhilarating season kicking off at Kimbolton, showcasing the very best of competitive karting.”
