Abbi at the double

Tuesday 07 May 2024

Lando Norris wasn’t the only British winner on the streets of Miami. Indeed, Motorsport UK Academy member Abbi Pulling went one better by winning both F1 Academy races on the same Grand Prix bill

The Englishwoman was in a class of her own all weekend and, with two pole positions, two dominant wins plus one fastest lap, she brought home 55 of the 56 points on offer. No surprises, then, that the Alpine ace now holds a substantial lead in the standings after the opening two rounds of the all-female series.

“Winning was so nice I had to do it twice!” joked a delighted Pulling after the second of her back-to-back victories. “It’s been incredible and, absolutely, the perfect weekend. Not sure I can find the words to say how it feels and I can’t thank everyone enough who has put me into this position and given me these opportunities. I’m now looking forward to heading back to base, recharging those batteries and going again. I can’t wait!”

While Abbi must wait until 21-23 June for the F1 Academy to reconvene in Barcelona, she will need to recharge her batteries swiftly as she is also contesting non-clashing rounds of the ROKiT British F4 Championship – next up on that calendar is Brands Hatch this weekend.
