Goodwood is GO! – SpeedWeek fires into life

Friday 16 October 2020

Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard gets underway today and promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime motoring event.

Visit speedweek.goodwood.com to watch and join in the motoring conversation.

Taking place behind closed doors at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, SpeedWeek combines the greatest elements of the Festival of Speed and Revival into a live-streamed three-day event.

Decades of World Rally Championship machines will start the event, as the Rally Super Special, headlined by current WRC leader Elfyn Evans, kicks off an adrenaline-fuelled weekend.

On track, famous faces from the worlds of Formula 1, BTCC, Le Mans and more, will do battle in close, competitive historic racing. Household names including Karun Chandhok and Rowan Atkinson will join nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen and BTCC stars Gordon Shedden, Colin Turkington, and Andrew Jordan in the nail-biting track action throughout the weekend. The full entry list, including all drivers and cars, can be found at HERE

Meanwhile, F1 World Champions Sir Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi and Damon Hill will take part in a huge celebration, spread across the three days of SpeedWeek, marking 70 years of Formula 1.

The all-new Goodwood Gymkhana drift event and modern shoot-out are also taking place over the weekend. The full event timetable is now available to view at goodwood.com.

The best place to enjoy the action will be the dedicated SpeedWeek Hub, where viewers can choose their favourite stream, watch video highlights on demand, and access all the interactive and exclusive content.

The Hub kicks off with a special Q&A with Mark Webber on Thursday 15th October at 16.00, with the main action starts on Friday 16th – at 09.00 on the Track Stream and 12.00 on the SpeedWeek Stream, and continuing throughout the weekend. There will be numerous opportunities to win incredible prizes across the broadcast, from the podium predictor to the SpeedWeek championship, details can be found on the Hub, accessed via goodwood.com.
