Motorsport UK announces two exciting new sustainability tenders
Are you an organisation that has a proven track record of working with sporting authorities on sustainability projects? Do you have experience in developing carbon calculators, either from scratch or through utilising existing versions, to help teams and clubs to track their emissions? Can you help sports to calculate the baseline emissions of events across the year?
If so, Motorsport UK, the governing body of four-wheel motorsport throughout the United Kingdom, is looking to work with you.
We are inviting experienced organisations to express their interest in two tender opportunities. These are:
- Developing carbon calculators for motorsport activities throughout the UK
- Assessing baseline emissions for motorsport activities throughout the UK
The work to be delivered will help move British motorsport forward in its sustainability journey that involves the full breadth and depth of British motorsport – including our 100,000 members, 45,000 competitors, 10,000 volunteer marshals, 4,000 officials and a legion of passionate motorsport spectators and fans.
Each year, over 5,000 event permits are issued by Motorsport UK covering a significant number of disciplines – from circuit racing to rallying, karting to hill climbs, autotest to drifting, and many more. These permits make the thrill of motorsport accessible and available to communities across all four nations.
Our goal is to help those running motorsport events in the UK to calculate their emissions, and to establish as a governing body the collective impact of all motorsport events across a typical year in motorsport. These are two objectives that form central parts of Motorsport UK’s wider sustainability strategy, which was published in 2021.
As the sole recognised national sporting authority by the FIA, Motorsport UK’s considerable influence across the world of motorsport both domestically and internationally is well established. The successful applicants will have the chance to fully immerse themselves in British motorsport by joining Motorsport UK at events, as our official environmental partner, and be able to create meaningful progress within our sport.
The two tenders available therefore offer the perfect opportunity for any organisation seeking to step into the wide world of motorsport.
