Motorsport UK committed to an equal, diverse and inclusive sport

Motorsport UK finds any use of racist or discriminatory language and behaviour to be completely reprehensible. Such attitudes have no place in our sport, or in society at all, and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

We stand shoulder to shoulder with Sir Lewis Hamilton – who is an incredible ambassador to motorsport. He inspires countless people around the world as he strives to make motorsport more equal, diverse and inclusive, a goal which Motorsport UK are fully committed to supporting.

Motorsport UK is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in motorsport, from the grassroots through to the highest level of the sport.

Our mission is to celebrate and enable participation in motorsport in a safe, fair, fun, inclusive and progressive environment. Motorsport UK’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee is devoted to broadening all pathways in motorsport.

Motorsport UK’s Women in Motorsport Sub-committee, Racial Diversity Sub-committee, Disability and Accessibility Sub-committee and LGBTQ+ Sub-committee support the EDI Committee across all four strands, ensuring that motorsport is an environment in which competitors and participants can feel comfortable and welcome. We are working to educate our community and when necessary, hold the community accountable for their language and behaviours.

At the end of 2021, Motorsport UK hosted the inaugural Racial Diversity in Motorsport Conference in its mission in its mission to increase racial diversity. The Conference was an important start in helping the wider motorsport world to better understand the issues so that this knowledge can be used as a launchpad for significant actions going forwards.
