• F1 Academy racer Chloe Grant announced as Girls on Track UK Ambassador.

• Chloe turbocharged her passion for motorsport through an event organized by Dare to be Different, the programme from which Girls on Track UK evolved.
• Announcement was made at the Hydro X Prix, the second round of the Extreme E championship, held in Chloe’s native Scotland.

Motorsport UK is delighted to confirm Scottish racer Chloe Grant has joined its hugely successful Girls on Track UK programme as an official Ambassador.

Seventeen-year-old Grant is racing this season in the brand-new F1 Academy, an all-female racing series supported by F1 and managed by Susie Wolff. Chloe competes for ART Grand Prix, which has helped a plethora of talent on their way to F1, including Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Charles Leclerc and George Russell.

Grant is supported by the Motorsport UK Driver Academy and is currently in her first year of her Motorsport UK Enhanced Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) course. The bespoke two-year course is designed to support talented drivers and co-drivers through both the sporting and academic pathway.

She joins a list of inspiring Girls on Track UK Ambassadors, including broadcasters such as Ariana Bravo, Louise Goodman and Natalie Pinkham, drivers Jamie Chadwick and Catie Munnings, as well as others who drive forward motorsport engineering, management and volunteering.

The announcement was made ahead of this weekend’s Extreme E Hydro X Prix (13-14 May), the second round of the 2023 season, which is held in Grant’s native Scotland. Grant will support a Girls on Track UK programme event held at the race location, where 80 girls from local schools in Dumfries and Galloway have been invited to experience the event from behind the scenes, and meet drivers and team personnel.

Ambassadors provide insight into the sport, sharing their knowledge at school and networking events to support the next generation of talent.

For Grant, from Perth in Scotland, becoming an Ambassador is an opportunity to inspire young girls to follow their dreams in motorsport. It’s also a full circle for the young Scot, who herself was captivated by motorsport at a Dare to be Different event, Girls on Track UK’s predecessors, in 2016 at her home track of Knockhill.

I remember very clearly when I experienced this sport that I needed to be a part of it. I was helped so much by Girls on Track to find my path. It gave me advice and then genuine real-life experience as I was introduced to the Motorsport UK Driver Academy, which has been invaluable in developing my strengths as a driver. I’m really looking forward to giving all that experience to other girls as they start or continue their own journeys.”

Uniting Susie Wolff’s ‘Dare to be Different’ initiative (founded in 2016) with the FIA’s ‘Girls on Track’ programme (founded in 2019), Girls on Track UK creates events to inspire girls and women into seeing and believing that there is a rightful and valuable place for them in the motorsport industry.

In addition to running events to inspire the younger generation of females, Girls on Track also has a free to join online community for women of all ages. The ability to meet other members, both online and at networking events, allows members to connect with other women who have a passion for motorsport, ask advice from one another and showcase their successes to inspire others.
