Your chance to join the Motorsport UK Academy; DiSE application process now open
The Motorsport UK Academy has opened applications for the September 2023 intake of its Enhanced Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) Programme.
The bespoke Sport England funded programme is designed to support talented drivers and co-drivers in managing a dual career, ensuring they receive high levels of education to support their motorsport ambitions.
The unique two-year A-Level equivalent programme provides an opportunity to gain qualifications alongside driver development training, creating an environment for individuals to become well-rounded athletes.
Delivered in collaboration with Loughborough College, the delivery style of the programme allows for flexibility in following an educational path whilst also developing driving and co-driving skills. This is reflected in the delivery style of the programme, which considers time away from college for industry experience, testing, travel and race weekend recovery. So, whilst it is a full-time programme, in-person delivery takes place during two weeks of every month.
On 20 February and 3 April 2023, prospective applicants will have an opportunity to visit Loughborough College for an open day, to find out more about the programme, have a tour of the campus and facilities, and hear from tutors and current drivers on the course.
“We’re holding our open days earlier this year, so athletes and their families can get a feel of what it would be like on the programme, should their application be successful,” commented Katie Baldwin, Motorsport UK Competitors Pathway Manager.
“Following the changes we made last year to the modules that make-up the programme, we’re also looking forward to expanding our vast network of motorsport industry partners to provide even more opportunities for our drivers to gain valuable experience opportunities throughout the sport.”
Alongside the programme modules (Diploma in Sporting Excellence, L3 Extended Certificate in Sporting Excellence & Performance, L3 Extended Certificate in Esports and L2 Extended Certificate in Motor Vehicle Technology), the Motorsport UK Academy also plans and delivers additional talent development opportunities. These include driver development days at iZone Driver Performance, sessions with Porsche Human Performance, workshops and guest speakers as well as practical driving opportunities such as karting, and entry into different motorsport disciplines, in the Motorsport UK Academy vehicle.
To register your attendance at one of the open days, you must submit an application for September 2023. Please click here for the application form.
